Thanks in part to the recession gripping most areas of the US, wireless providers have been lowering pricing across the board.  In the race to offer the cheapest wireless service in the US, Tracfone subsidiary Straight Talk has jumped into the pack with its $45 unlimited talk/text plan.  Not to be outdone, they're even generous enough to throw in 30 MB of data usage.  Though the device options consist of a Motorola RAZR V3a, Motorola W385, or an LG200CM, the monthly service cost is hard to beat.

For those that don't need unlimited minutes, a $30 plan is available that offers 1,000 minutes and 1,000 text messages.  As an MVNO, Smart Talk utilizes Verizon Wireless' nationwide voice and data network for its offerings.  Boring equipment aside, anyone interested in signing up?
