DROID X getting Android 2.2 by "early September"

While Motorola DROID owners are sitting patiently, waiting for Android 2.2 to hit their devices, DROID X owners are left to wonder just when they'll get their heaping helping of Froyo. Thanks to a Motorola employee by the name of Matt, we now know that the update will be hitting DROID Xs by in a few weeks. Responding to users experiencing problems with the device's Exchange 2003 notifications, Matt explained that the "fix for this will be included in the upgrade to Android 2.2 scheduled for deployment by early September."
While Matt's response is still somewhat vague, it's definitely brought us closer to know when Android 2.2 will roll out the DROID X. Considering we've been promised the update ever since the device's launch, any new information is welcome. Let's just hope that Moto is able to work out all of the kinks and release the update quickly; we wouldn't want the DROID X to get too envious of its older DROID brother.
