Rumor: DROID Incredible getting Android 2.2 on August 18th

Now that the original DROID and the spiffy new DROID 2 are the only Android phones on Verizon running Android 2.2, owners of devices like the DROID X and DROID Incredible have to be wondering when they'll get the Froyo goodness. While I can't do anything for you DROID X users, I have good news for those of you toting a DROID Incredible, as Mashable reports that Android 2.2 will roll out to your devices beginning Wednesday, August 18th. This news comes from multiple sources who have stated that Verizon employees are already running Froyo on their devices, meaning the update is primed and ready to go. While it may not be early August like we've heard in the past, I'd say it's close enough. Incredible owners, you may now do a little update dance.
Considering that Android 2.2 has already hit owners of HTC's EVO 4G, I'm not surprised to learn that Froyo is ready to go for the company's Incredible, as well. After all, they both run Android beneath HTC's Sense UI. Now we just have to play the waiting game and hope that these rumors are true. Fortunately, this waiting game will be short, as August 18th is only five short days away.
