DROID Pro is likely the world-ready DROID 2, R2-D2 DROID 2 is A957

Way back on August 9th, a device called the DROID Pro showed up in a leaked Verizon roadmap sporting specs like a 1.3 GHz processor, a 4-inch screen, and global roaming capabilities. However, it's looking likely that the DROID Pro is simply the global DROID 2 with the model number A956. We first heard this rumor a week ago from a source "close to the situation" speaking to Engadget, and now we've got a photo of Verizon's systems stating that the R2-D2 DROID 2 is the mysterious A957 device. Adding to the rumor is the fact that Engadget's first source was "insistent" that Verizon had no plans to release a phone with specs higher than the DROID X's.
Some people had speculated that the R2-D2 DROID 2 had its own model number, but those rumors were dismissed since many thought a special, limited edition of a phone wouldn't warrant its own model number. Another thing we heard about the world edition of the DROID 2 was that it would be coming in a white edition and, as you can see near the top of the list of devices above, there is a device with the model number A956W, which makes a white model look likely. So, are any of you global roamers interested in picking up a GSM-capable DROID 2?
