T-Mobile G2 pre-orders begin Sept. 10th at Best Buy, launches Oct. 6th

T-Mobile G2

T-Mobile ended weeks of rumors and leaks and officially announced the G2 this morning.  Unfortunately, they didn't feel like telling us exactly when pre-orders would begin or when the device would actually go on sale.  Best Buy to the rescue!  The electronics retailer has just announced that they will begin taking pre-orders for the G2 beginning tomorrow, September 10th.  Even better, Best Buy gave us a solid release date, saying that the G2 will be available in stores beginning October 6th.  Unsurprisingly, pricing is set at $199.99 with a two-year contract.  Check out the full press release below.

I'm kind of surprised that Best Buy beat T-Mobile to the punch by announcing the G2's release date, but current T-Mobile customers may be able to get their hands on the HSPA+ phone even earlier than October 6th.  In their press release earlier today, T-Mo said that "Current T-Mobile customers will get exclusive access to preorder the G2 starting later this month."  Sure, they may get a pre-order later than Best Buy customers, but perhaps T-Mobile will do them a solid and release the G2 before BBY's Oct. 6th launch?  No one knows for sure what will happen, but I do know one thing: you shouldn't be surprised to see lines of eager Android fans lining up outside your local Best Buy tomorrow, waiting to reserve their very own G2.
