Rumor: T-Mobile G2 launch date pushed back to October 16th

We've gone a few days without hearing any sort of T-Mobile G2 news, so it's nice to see the HSPA+ device back in the news. Unfortunately, the news isn't good, as TmoNews has heard that the G2's release date has been pushed back until October 16th. While this is definitely disappointing, we have to keep in mind that T-Mobile never actually announced an official release date for the G2. The most solid launch date we've heard for the G2 so far came from Best Buy, who is currently taking pre-orders for the device and said it would be released on October 6th. There was a rumor circulating that said that the T-Mobile would make the G2 available on September 29th, but that rumor is looking increasingly unlikely.
Considering all of the hype surrounding the G2, I'm sure that there are more than a few of us disappointed by the news of a possible delay for the handset. I suppose that since T-Mobile never actually came out and announced a launch date for the phone, though, it's tough to say that the phone has been "delayed." Plus, October 16th is less than a month away. When you combine all of this information, an October 16th release for the G2 doesn't seem so bad, right?
