T-Mobile 4G

Last night we saw Sprint confirm that it'll be launching a WiMAX-capable tablet some time in 2011, and now T-Mobile is joining in on the fun, too.  While they didn't really mention any specific manufacturers or OSes (not that Sprint was much more specific), T-Mobile did say that they plan on offering "an aggressive 4G product lineup" next year, which includes a tablet that can access their HSPA+ network.  The full statement from T-Mo is as follows:

“T-Mobile is working closely with the majority of our OEM partners to deliver 4G products by integrating HSPA+ into roadmaps in 2011 as the dominant global standard. Consumers will continue to see HSPA+ fuel future innovation in a variety of mobile consumer electronics from smartphones and tablets to emerging devices. T-Mobile will continue to be at the forefront of wireless innovation, delivering an aggressive 4G product lineup in 2011, including 4G tablets.”

There's not a lot to gather from T-Mobile's statement, but it's good to get confirmation that they'll be launching some 4G tablets in 2011, even if we kind of already assumed that they would, anyway.  Considering that T-Mo, like Verizon, seems to be all-in on Android, an HSPA+ tablet running Google's mobile OS is probably a safe bet for next year.  It's also entirely possible that we'll see a PlayBook appear on Magenta, too.  Heck, there's even a (slight) chance that the iPad 2 could get some T-Mo love.  It's not likely, but in this crazy, mixed-up world where LTE, WiMAX, and HSPA+ are all called 4G, anything is possible.
