LTE Samsung Galaxy Tab

Verizon may be getting the Motorola XOOM tablet in the near future, but it won't be the only LTE-enabled Android tablet on Big Red's roster.  Samsung announced today that they'll be releasing an updated version of its Galaxy Tab which will not only come packed with the ability to access Verizon's 4G network, but will also sport a 1.2GHz Hummingbird processor and a 5 megapixel camera, up from the 1GHz chip and 3 megapixel shooter found in the previous model.  Other features carried over from the 3G-only Tab include a 7-inch 1024x600 display and Android 2.2.  No word just yet on pricing or a launch date, but we'll let you know when more information comes to light.  The full press release from Sammy can be found below.

Also revealed by Samsung today was a new LTE hotspot that also works with EV-DO when you find yourself out of range of Verizon's 4G network.  Sammy didn't announce launch or pricing details, but hopefully we'll learn more sooner rather than later.

The Galaxy Tab may have lost a little bit of its luster with the recent announcement of Android 3.0 and the tablets that'll run it, but Samsung's updated offering seems like it can hold its own, especially now that we know that it can run Honeycomb, too.  I just feel bad for anyone that ran out and purchased a Galaxy Tab prior to this announcement.  Sure, the 200MHz and 2 more megapixels aren't a huge deal, but I know that I'd be kind of bummed knowing that I was missing out on those LTE speeds.
