1/11/11 at 11 AM.  New York City = the "Big Apple."  Verizon = Red.  Red apples.  APPLE.  Get it?

Once available on AT&T only, rumors and sources say that Verizon will be announcing the Apple iPhone.  While we can't be there thanks to the snow and ice (darn you, mother nature!), we'll be covering the event from afar.  So whether it's an iPhone 4, new rollouts of 4G LTE service, or a grand unveiling of a name for the Samsung smartphone announced at CES (because c'mon, "4G LTE" really isn't a name), keep it locked here as it breaks!

Q: Can you use voice and data at the same time?  A: Nope, same as the usual CDMA structure.  NO VOICE AND DATA SIMULTANEOUSLY.

Q: What changes have been made to the design?  A: We had to make changes for it to work on a CDMA network.  Nothing beyond that.

Q: Is the CDMA iPhone exclusive to Verizon?

A: It's a multi-year, non exclusive deal.  (AB: There you go, Sprint users)

Q: Why didn't you go with LTE?

A: Two reasons - (1) First-gen chips too big, (2) People wanted it now

Looks like they've made some minor design changes.  Bar above the volume rocker, but no bar up by the 3.5mm headphone jack.  Very interesting.

The usual pricing - $199.99 for 16 GB, $299.99 for 32 GB - but offers mobile hotspot.  Nice!

It'll be available early next month, and is a CDMA device.  Specs look to be the same as the GSM version.

Alright, here's where the fun begins.  I'm sitting in the room, waiting for the event to start...just kidding.  Weather prevented me from attending.  Boo!  That's ok, my desk works too.
