Despite the announcement of the Motorola XOOM, CES didn't give us an opportunity to get hands-on time with Honeycomb, Google's tablet-centric version of the Android operating system. "Hands-on" demos of the XOOM consisted of videos of Android 3.0 playing on the tablet (Android 3.0 videos playing on Android 3.0...odd, I know).
At today's special event at Google HQ, the company promises an in-depth look at Honeycomb, "Android ecosystem news," and hands-on demos with new products. While the "ecosystem news" is vague and could mean several things, one thing is for sure - after Google's Android event, we'll have a better idea of how Honeycomb (Android 3.0) functions. Given the speculation that's circulating around the web, we could see a few surprises as well.
Our live coverage of Google's "A taste of what's new from Android" event begins today (February 2nd) at 1:00 PM EST/10:00 AM PST, so keep it locked on this page!
