Rumor: Verizon iPhone sales surpassed 1 million on launch weekend

Ever since the Verizon iPhone launched on February 10th, its sales numbers have been a pretty hot topic, especially since neither Verizon nor Apple have released official figures. The latest bit of speculation comes from Scott Moritz over at The Street, who is reporting that there were 1 million VeriPhones sold on launch weekend. Moritz came to this conclusion by using estimates from analysts that claim that there were 600,000 pre-orders and, since Dan Mead said that 60 percent of total sales were pre-orders, that would put the total launch weekend sales at 1 million.
Besides Mead's 60 percent figure, we also know that pre-sales of the Verizon iPhone broke Big Red's first day sales records in just two hours. It's tough to say exactly how many Verizon iPhones have been sold, especially thanks to VZW's online pre-ordering, but we should be hearing more when the carrier officially announces its Q1 earnings in April. What do you think? Would you take the over or under on the 1 million sold estimate?
