Motorola DROID X2

By now we know just about everything there is to know about the Motorola DROID X2 thanks to the multitude of leaks that have appeared over the past few months, but there were still a few questions we had about the device and its specs. Thankfully, this morning Verizon made the DROID X2 official and cleared it all up for us. The DROID X2 will be available online tomorrow, May 19th, for $199.99 with a new two-year contract and will be landing in Big Red's brick and mortar locations beginning on May 26th. Specs for the X2 include a 4.3-inch 540x960 qHD display, dual-core 1GHz processor, 8-megapixel camera with HD video capture, 512MB RAM, 8GB microSD card preinstalled, 1540mAh battery, HDMI output, Mobile Hotspot capability with support for up to five devices, and Android 2.2, with an update to Gingerbread planned for sometime in the future. And no, they didn't decide to sneak in LTE connectivity at the last minute.

So there you have it. The DROID X2 is by no means a complete revamp of the original DROID X, especially the exterior, but I'm sure that the new model will be just fine thanks to its 4.3-inch qHD display and dual-core 1GHz processor. Anyone picking one up?

Jerimiah Reece
Jerimiah Reece The X2 is interesting, but ONLY because of the Dual-Core Tegra 2 and the qHD screen. I'm waiting to see if the Bionic will be all it's claimed to be. We don't have 4G here (nor will we anytime soon), but the Bionic may still be the way I go.

Sim Floyd Jr
Sim Floyd Jr Verizon has been playing games. They offer 4G devices with no power and powerful devices with no 4G. You are forced to make a choice. Personally, I think power is better, but won't we have both with the Samsung Function soon? Waiting for that or moving to T-mo. The deals there are just too good, and the phones give power plus speed.

Robin Sin 4G!
Keith Myers
Keith Myers so many phones make it hard to choose.... like the HTC phones and the galaxy s 2, wish it would come to Verizon soon.... Still deciding if I should go with a 4g phone since 4g will be in my area by the end of the year or go with a cheaper 3g phone and wait for 4g technology to mature......
