HTC EVO Shift 4G Gingerbread update to be available beginning June 17th?Alex Wagner - Senior News Editor
HTC EVO Shift 4G owners, ready for your own helping of Gingerbread goodness? According to a document leaked to Android Police, the EVO Shift 4G's Android 2.3 update will begin rolling out to users next Monday, June 20th, and will include Swype, a media streaming fix, and all of the goodies that come with an update to Gingerbread. If you absolutely, positively can't wait until Monday, the doc claims that you'll be able to manually pull down the update beginning this Friday, June 17th.
Although I'm sure that many EVO Shift 4G owners have had a tough past couple of weeks as they've watched their EVO 4G counterparts enjoy Android 2.3, it's good to see Sprint and HTC follow that up with an EVO Shift update within the same month. Now we just have to sit and wait for Sprint to make it official which, if this is anything like that EVO 4G's update, should be happening soon. Stay tuned!
