T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide

And just like that, the wait is finally over. The T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide has been one of the leakier handsets in recent memory, but it's finally been made official in the dead of night. So what kind of specs does this bad boy pack? Glad you asked. The myTouch 4G Slide has a 3.7-inch 480x800 super LCD display, 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 8-megapixel camera with that T-Mobile claims is the "most advanced camera on any smartphone," 1080p video capture, VGA front-facing camera, preinstalled 8GB microSD card, physical QWERTY keyboard, khaki or black color schemes, and Android 2.3 beneath HTC Sense 3.0. Expect the myTouch 4G Slide to be available in July for $199.99 with a two-year contract and $50 mail-in rebate.

Getting back to that camera quickly, the myTouch 4G Slide features improved low-light performance with an illuminated sensor and wide aperture lens, zero shutter lag, SweepShot for "capturing panoramic shots by sweeping across an entire scene in a single motion," ClearShot HDR to help take better photos in bright settings, and BurstShot to allow users to take several photos in a quick burst. Sounds pretty attractive, no? You can check out the myTouch 4G Slide's camera in action in the short clip embedded below.

The myTouch 4G Slide and its fancy camera weren't the only things announced by T-Mobile tonight, as the carrier also declared that it's expanded its HSPA+ network to seven new markets. The newly-minted T-Mobile 4G markets are: Barnstable, Mass.; Chico, Calif.; Lancaster, Penn.; Ogden, Utah; Redding, Calif.; Vineland, N.J., and Winchester, Va.

There you have it. The myTouch 4G Slide is packing some pretty impressive specs, especially with its 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 8-megapixel shooter that's got enough whiz-bang extras to please most anyone. Some folks may be disappointed that the MT4GS "only" has a 3.7-inch display and that its not of the qHD variety, but the good news is that it is does have a super LCD screen that should appease those bummed out about the display size. So what do you all think? Anyone planning on snagging a myTouch 4G Slide next month?

Leonard Cleavelin
Leonard Cleavelin As far as I'm concerned, touchscreen keyboards suck. I need my tactile feedback. If I were still w/T-Mo I'd probably pay full price for this one to upgrade off contract (I loved my mT 3G Slide), but I bailed from Magenta several days after the merger was announced.
Jarrad Floyd
Jarrad Floyd Sorry Dave & as a MT4G user I'd have to say ....... "NO".... I'm going to Sprint, I just don't think T-Mobile has what it takes to make it, although I love them to death.. & that's unfortunately where we've arrived.

Nathaniel Hull
Nathaniel Hull Ya price def is not steep, considering Verizon charges $299 for that dumb droid charge, and im pretty sure its only a single core
Johnny Tooter Shackelford
Johnny Tooter Shackelford I hope the slide mechanism isn't as tight as the 3g slide was.
Nathaniel Hull
Nathaniel Hull I really like having a keyboard option, I get bored of just a flat phone, that looks the same as the rest
Josh Avondoglio
Josh Avondoglio Looks great...wish the screen was a bit bigger though. Rest of the specs are awesome.
Ed Plnia
Ed Plnia They all look good on video, I used to have the GX2, right now I have the sensation and I just saw the video of this phone this morning plus the specs " the phone look good, the hardware too. The gx2 have better camera than the sensation, which isn't that sensation at all for me is just another phone.
Josh Therezo
Josh Therezo You think that is steep? I paid $350 for my Samsung Epic 4G WITH a new two year contract. ($100 mail in rebate).
Jon Recinos
Jon Recinos Until HTC realizes that a lot of people hate Sense, since vanilla android is quite fine now, then no. Unless bootloader is unlocked, but I'm still not going to even consider it.
Michael Alfonso Ho
Michael Alfonso Ho Keyboards are overrated.
Hans Jaramillo
Hans Jaramillo Everything on this phone trumps anything on T-Mobile, save for the Sensation.
Nick Petrizzio
Nick Petrizzio I will keep my iPhone
Enrique Ivan Almaguer
Enrique Ivan Almaguer If the g2x had a keyboard I would have bought it
Tatiana Torres
Tatiana Torres The best is the G2x
Pierce G Hohenstein
Pierce G Hohenstein It seems ok I guess but I would go with the Sensation
Hansel Starley
Hansel Starley Looks alright.
Sim Floyd Jr
Sim Floyd Jr If the ram is the same or BETTER than the HTC Sensation, then this phone will be the best phone T-mobile has or has ever released. The price is fitting considering the current Superphone Market. We can't judge this MyTouch in the same vein as the old. It's more like the Sensation than the MyTouch 4G.
Beto Santana
Beto Santana It's ok
Nathan Ross
Nathan Ross Make it without a keyboard and it would really be one of the best. Phones with keyboards in my opinion look cheap, ugly, and too thick.
Hans Jaramillo
Hans Jaramillo $200 is a little steep? The majority of high end smartphones are $200+.
Sebio Arias
Sebio Arias No wonder why theyre selling the old mytouch slides for free
Derrick D J Thomason
Derrick D J Thomason The price is a little steep. Overall it looks good!!
