HTC DROID Incredible Gingerbread update has been delayed

Been draining the battery on your HTC DROID Incredible the past couple of days by checking for your update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread every five seconds? You can put the phone down for now, as a Verizon rep has revealed on Big Red's official Incredible support forums that the update has been delayed for reasons unknown. The employee's full statement:
"Everyone, I apologize for the inconvenience, but the update has been delayed. Our product team is going through more testing. Once we know for sure when the update is coming, we will post more info."
Kind of a bummer for all of the DROID Incredible owners, but hey, getting a delayed update to Gingerbread is better than no update at all, right? We'll let you know more about the update's new launch date when we do.
