Samsung holding event on August 29th, Galaxy S II not so subtly teased [UPDATED]Alex Wagner - Deputy Managing Editor, News Desk
I hope you've got some extra vacation days available for later this month, because Samsung just sent out invites for a media-only event on August 29th where it'll be making a "major product announcement." There's no mention of exactly what Samsung has up its sleeve for the event, but I'd be remiss if I didn't point out the "II" near the bottom of the invitation. I see what you did there, Samsung.
One of the hottest questions in mobile as of late has bee "When will Samsung finally bring the Galaxy S II to the U.S.?!?" Thankfully, it looks like we're only 17 days away from finally, finally knowing the answer to that question. You know that we'll be at Samsung's event live, bringing you all the news as it happens, so keep it locked to PhoneDog and start the countdown. The Galaxy S II is finally coming stateside.
UPDATE: Get out your calendars, folks, because Samsung just let us know that this event has been postponed by hurricane Irene. Don't fret! It's only been pushed back one day, meaning it'll now be going down at the same time on Tuesday, August 30th. No silly hurricane can stop your friends at PhoneDog, though! We'll still be there live, bringing you the news as it happens.
