Motorola XOOM 4G LTE

Been aching to ride Verizon's 4G LTE airwaves on your Motorola XOOM since the device launched earlier this year? Looks like you'll finally get the chance to do just that, as Verizon has announced that the XOOM's LTE upgrade will be starting tomorrow, September 29th. Interested XOOMers can head to this page tomorrow to get the (free of charge) upgrade process going, and Verizon says that customers should expect to get their 4G-enabled XOOMs back in around six business days. Verizon also revealed that the Motorola XOOM 4G LTE — which will come with LTE out of the box — will be available in stores on October 13th for $499.99 with a two-year contract.

It's good to see Verizon and Motorola finally, finally getting around to making the XOOM LTE upgrade available, especially considering that process was originally supposed to start back in Q2. Although there may have been a few XOOM users out there that ditched the slate after getting tired of waiting for the 4G upgrade to arrive, this news should please the folks that have stuck by their trusty Honeycomb tablet. How many of you out there own a XOOM and plan to have it outfitted with 4G LTE support?
