HTC Wildfire S now available online from U.S. Cellular, hits stores on Friday
@PhoneDog_Alex

U.S. Cellular announced late last month that it would be offering the HTC Flyer, Hero S, and Wildfire S sometime during October. First came the Flyer on October 7th, then the Hero S followed last week on the 13th, and now the Wildfire S has rounded out the trio by launching today. The Wildfire S is now available from U.S. Cellular's website for free with a $100 mail-in rebate and two-year contract. If you'd prefer a more traditional, brick and mortar experience, the Wildfire S will be available in-store on Friday, October 21st. As far as specs go, the Wildfire S includes:
- 3.2-inch 480x320 display
- 600MHz Qualcomm MSM8227 processor
- 5-megapixel camera
- 512 MB RAM/ROM
- 2GB microSD card preinstalled
- 1,230mAh battery
- Android 2.3 Gingerbread beneath HTC's Sense UI
Obviously the Wildfire S is an entry-level device, especially compared to recently-launched devices like the Hero S and Motorola Electrify, but it's still good to see U.S. Cellular continue to flesh out its Android lineup with a variety of handsets. Keep 'em coming, USCC.
