Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch Sprint

Sprint has been pushing software updates to several of its devices over the past couple of weeks, and today its the Epic 4G Touch's turn. The carrier has revealed that the Epic 4G Touch (also known as "EpTouch" by some) will begin receiving the EL29 update today and that it'll be pushed out in stages, with 100 percent of devices expected to get it within 10 days or so. Interested in a changelog? Here it is:

  • Security update
  • Dismissing multiple calendar alerts
  • Commercial Alert System (CMAS) activated

As with the other Sprint handset updates we've seen recently, it's expected that the "Security update" portion of this new software involves the removal of Carrier IQ. Overall this isn't a huge update, but as I've said before, any update is a good update as long as it doesn't make your phone spontaneously burst into flames (or break it in some other way). Epic 4G Touch folk, be sure to give us a shout in the comments below when EL29 hits your handset!
