Last month saw a handful of Sprint Android handsets receive updates that, among other things, contained "Security Updates" that are likely meant to remove Carrier IQ from the devices. Those updates are now continuing into February, as Sprint today announced that the HTC EVO Shift 4G and Samsung Replenish are set to receive software bumps of their own. The full changelogs for the two updates are as follows:
HTC EVO Shift 4G Software Update - 2.77.651.3
Samsung Replenish Software Update - FA19
Sprint says that update notifications will begin being sent out to EVO Shift 4G owners on February 7th. However, folks that want the update as soon as possible can try to initiate it manually starting today by going into Menu > Settings > System updates > HTC software update. Meanwhile, the Replenish update actually began rolling out yesterday, and Sprint says that it'll be released in stages. All Replenish devices are expected to receive the new software within 10 days.
