Motorola adds more devices to Ice Cream Sandwich update plans

Heads up, Motorola devices owners: Today the manufacturer has provided some updated information on its Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade plans. In addition to adding some more devices to the update list, Motorola has also provided a window of time for the upgrade's expected arrival for some other products. Some of the devices new to Moto's ICS update list include the Atrix 4G, Atrix 2, Photon 4G and Electrify. Here's the breakdown provided by Motorola concerning which devices will be updated to ICS and when the upgrade is expected to begin rolling out (or how far along in the update process the device is):
- Rollout expected to begin in Q2 2012: XOOM Family Edition
- Rollout expected to begin in Q3 2012: Atrix 4G, Atrix 2, Photon 4G, Xyboard 8.2, Xyboard 10.1
- Currently in "Evaluation and Planning" phase: Admiral, DROID 3, DROID 4, DROID Bionic, DROID RAZR, DROID RAZR MAXX, DROID X2, DROID Xyboard 8.2, DROID Xyboard 10.1, Electrify, Milestone 3, Milestone X2, Motorola Pro+, XOOM 3G
That's a fairly sizable list of devices, and it's good to see Motorola continue to keep us up to date on its Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade plans. Unfortunately, it looks like most of the products are going to be waiting a while for their bump up to Android 4.0 to come. I suppose that any news of an update to ICS is nice to hear, regardless of when it'll be coming, but it's still kind of a bummer to see that devices like the Photon 4G and Atrix 2 will be waiting until Q3 for a taste of ICS. How many of you own a device on one of the above lists?
