Excite 13

Today Toshiba officially took the wraps off of its three latest additions to the tablet market, the Excite 7.7, 10 and 13, which measure 7.7, 10.1 and 13.3 inches in size, respectively. All three tablets have a number of features in common, including a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, 5-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras, stereo speakers and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. They also all feature Gorilla Glass displays and aluminum bodies. As for what's different between the three, here's a handy bulleted breakdown:

  • Toshiba Excite 7.7: 7.7-inch AMOLED display, micro-USB and microSD ports, and a body that measures 0.3 inches thick. The Excite 7.7 will be launching June 10th, with pricing set at $499.99 for the 16GB model and $579.99 for the 32GB version.
  • Toshiba Excite 10: 10.1-inch 1280x800 LED display, micro-USB, micro-HDMI, full-size SD card slot, 10 hours of battery life and a thickness of 0.35 inches. Expect the 10.1-inch Excite 10 to hit on May 6th with pricing starting at $449.99 for the 16GB flavor, $529.99 for 32GB and $649.99 for the 64GB variant.
  • Toshiba Excite 13: 13.3-inch LED display with 16:9 aspect ratio and 1600x900 resolution, micro-USB, micro-HDMI, full-size SD card slot, 13 hours of battery life and a body that comes in a 0.4 inches thick. The big daddy of Toshiba's new Excite lineup will hit on June 10th for $649.99 for the 32GB model or $749.99 to double up to 64GB of storage.

So there's Toshiba's new tablet lineup. It's good to see the company offering these Excite slates in a range of display sizes, and I'm sure that the 13.3-inch Excite 13 will gain quite a bit of attention thanks to its huge display. Toshiba says that the 13.3-incher is "ideally suited for the home," and considering that a lot of folks never take their tablet out into the world, the Excite 13 could be an option for some people in the market for a new slate. The full PR announcing all three tablets can be found below. What do you all make of Toshiba's Excite tablets? Do you think you'd be interested in using a large slate like the Excite 13?
