Motorola Atrix HD official, headed to AT&T with 4G LTE for $99.99Alex Wagner - Editorial Director of News and Content
Less than a week after the Motorola Atrix HD made a brief appearance on Moto's website, the handset has been made officially official. Like the Atrix and Atrix 2 before it, the Atrix HD is headed to AT&T shelves. Unlike the its predecessors, though, the Atrix HD packs support for AT&T's 4G LTE network. The Atrix HD's spec sheet also includes a 4.5-inch 720p display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, an 8-megapixel rear camera that has zero shutter lag and can record 1080p video as well as a 720p HD front-facing shooter on its face. All of that is packed into a body that measures 8.4mm thick and features Kevlar fiber and a splash guard coating.
On the software side of things, the Atrix HD comes packing Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Motorola has included its Smart Actions app that can automatically change the device's settings to help conserve battery life. The Atrix HD is also the first handset with Moto's Circle Widget on its home screen, which gives presents users with important information like time, date, weather, notifications, settings, battery life and data usage info at a glance.
What about pricing and availability, you ask? The Motorola Atrix HD will arrive on AT&T's shelves on July 15 in both Modern White and Titanium and will cost $99.99 with a two-year contract. That's not bad for a handset with 4G LTE and a 4.5-inch 720p display, and it's good to see that pricing is one of the things that the Atrix HD has in common with its older Atrix 2 brother. You can find Motorola's official announcement of the Atrix HD below. So now that we've been officially introduced to the Atrix HD, anyone thinking about buying one?
