Ready for a new update, Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi owners? According to Android Central, Motorola has begun sending emails to members of the Motorola Feedback Network that own a Wi-Fi-only XOOM, inviting them to participate in a "software test." As is usually the case with these soak tests, though, Motorola makes no mention of exactly what the new software could be.
Considering that Google has already confirmed that the XOOM will be receiving an update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, it's possible that that's what this test is for. However, we won't know for sure exactly what the update entails until it actually begins rolling out to the public (or sooner if one of the testers decides to spill the beans). Exactly when it'll start pushing to all users isn't known either, but Motorola kicked off a similar test for the Wi-Fi-only XOOM's Android 4.0 update back in January 2012, and then the software began going out to everyone a little under a week later. We'll pass along more details on this latest mysterious test we get 'em. Stay tuned!
