Get out your pad and paper (or your digital equivalent), T-Mobile customers, because you've got a couple of new device code names to keep track of. A new T-Mobile roadmap leaked to our pals at TmoNews has shown that Magenta is expecting a pair of new phones in September, referred to as the "HTC Era 42" and the "BlackBerry Armstrong." Both devices are listed as arriving on September 26, but outside of that, there's not much information available about either product.
So just what could these Magenta-bound handsets be? The BlackBerry Armstrong is a Curve successor, so RIM fanatics hoping for a new high-end handset may be out of luck. The HTC Era 42 is a bit more mysterious. There aren't any hard details about the phone, but it's suggested that it could be a new member of T-Mobile's "G" series of devices, as TmoNews points out that the G1 also went by the name "Era G1." There's also the "42" in the name, which could mean that this device will be able to access T-Mobile's 42Mbps HSPA+ network. None of this is concrete just yet, but it's certainly something to chew on while we wait for more details on these two phones to surface. If you've got some ideas of what you think the HTC Era 42 and BlackBerry Armstrong might be and you'd like to share them, the comments section below is ready and waiting for you.
