HTC Trophy Verizon Wireless

The HTC Trophy has never gotten any Windows Phone siblings in its time on Verizon, but it looks like the handset will soon be receiving something nearly as good, in the form of a Tango update. Verizon has posted details of the update on its Trophy support page, showing that the update will bump the Trophy up to Windows Phone 7.5 MCR3 and bring with it Wi-Fi Hotspot support and improved MMS capabilities. Verizon's full changelog:

  • The device is now Wi-Fi Hotspot capable. This function can be turned on with the “Internet Sharing” feature under Settings. With this feature, you will have the ability to share your mobile data connection with up to 5 Wi-Fi enabled devices. Data charges will apply.
  • Enhanced multimedia messaging capabilities:
    • Multi-picture attachments
    • Video attachments
    • Send/receive ringtones

That may not be a huge list, but the changes contained within in pretty nice. As is usually the case, though, Verizon doesn't mention precisely when this update will begin rolling out to users, so anyone toting a Trophy may want to keep a close eye out for an update notification so that they can pounce on it as soon as possible. Are any of you Verizon folk currently rocking a Trophy?
