Hot on the heels of a Samsung-focused handset rumor, a new report claiming to have details about an upcoming HTC handset has made its way online. According to a source speaking to, HTC is prepping a follow-up to the One X, which may be codenamed the Endeavour C2 (the One X was the Endeavor). The Endeavour C2 is said to feature a 1.7GHz quad-core processor and an improved battery under its hood, and we're also told to expect a new color variant and UrBeats headphones bundled in (so much for that "unlikely to bundle headphones" thing?). HTC is reportedly packing in ClearVoice software for better call quality, which should be helpful for those times you actually use the thing as a phone, as well as a new HTC Watch 2 app. Finally, the Endeavour C2 will reportedly be compatible with the One X's accessories, meaning that it'd likely feature a similar form factor.

We've recently heard rumblings of a device referred to as the "HTC One X+," which is said to feature a 1.7GHz quad-core chip just like this Endeavour 2. Considering that device's One X+ name and today's claim that the Endeavour C2 may work with the One X's accessories, and therefore have a similar body, it's entirely possible that the One X+ and Endeavor C2 are actually the same device. The rumor mill claims that the One X+ might be hitting T-Mobile here in the U.S. as soon as September 26, which also fits nicely with's claim that the Endeavour C2 could arrive in the U.K. around October 1. If those dates hold true, an unveiling may not be far off, so keep it locked to PhoneDog for more.
