LG Motion 4G introduced by MetroPCS as its first Android 4.0 smartphone

LG Motion 4G MetroPCS

Today is a new phone day for MetroPCS, as the carrier has announced the LG Motion 4G, a new addition to its Android-powered LTE lineup. The Motion 4G will be available later this week both online and in MetroPCS stores for $149 plus tax. Along with the aforementioned LTE support, the Motion 4G features a 3.5-inch display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel camera (with the ability to take still photos while recording video) and mobile hotspot support. The Motion 4G is also MetroPCS's first Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich device.

In addition to the LG Motion 4G, MetroPCS took the wraps off of a new promotional LTE service plan. The new plan offers unlimited talk, text and 4G LTE data access for $55 per month, and customers can also add a second, third and fourth line to the plan for $50 each per month. The promo plan will only be available for a limited time, but MetroPCS says that customers that sign up can keep it for as long as they maintain service. MetroPCS is also offering a mail-in rebate to customers that purchase two 4G LTE smartphones, with the rebate applying to the second of the pair. The rebate is available for all 4G LTE handsets, including the Motion 4G.

While the LG Motion 4G may not be the most bleeding edge handset we've ever seen from a carrier, MetroPCS or otherwise, the ICS-toting device's $150 contract-free price tag is kinda tough to argue with. And hey, for Metro folk not in the market for a new smartphone, there's that new promotional unlimited 4G LTE plan to check out. Thanks to the plan's option of adding additional lines for $50 each, it could be especially interesting for those customers with multiple MetroPCS handsets. The official announcement for both the Motion 4G and Metro's promo plan is available for your perusal below.
