Windows Phone fans on Verizon haven't exactly had much of anything to get excited about in a while, which is thanks to fact that the carrier's sole Windows Phone handset was released way back in May 2011. Big Red customers that love their live tiles may have something to look forward to later this year, though, according to a source speaking to Bloomberg. The tipster claims that Verizon plans to offer a Nokia Windows Phone 8 handset sometime later this year. No details about the device itself or its release date were mentioned, but it's said that Verizon won't be a part of Microsoft and Nokia's September 5 event.
Nokia exec Richard Kerris said last month that "it won't be long" before one of his company's Windows Phone devices makes its way to Verizon, and today's report appears to back up that claim. And while we may not know much of anything about the phone itself, I'm sure that many Verizon folk are looking forward to it since the aging HTC Trophy is the only Windows Phone device that Big Red has on offer. Now Verizon customers just have to be patient for a little while longer, especially during that September 5 event, as we wait for official word on this upcoming handset from Nokia and Verizon. How many of you Verizon folk are looking forward to a Nokia Windows Phone on your carrier?
