Coolpad Quattro 4G MetroPCS official

Just a week after MetroPCS teased the Coolpad Quattro 4G as part of its upcoming device lineup, the new smartphone has been made officially official. Created by MetroPCS's new partner Coolpad Americas, the Coolpad Quattro 4G features a 4-inch display and VGA camera on its face, as well as a second 3.2-megapixel camera on its backside. The device also features a 1GHz processor, 4G LTE connectivity, mobile hotspot support and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The Coolpad Quattro 4G will be priced at $149 plus tax, though the carrier is still holding a promotion which offers a $50 mail-in rebate on the second 4G LTE smartphone when customers buy two LTE handsets at the same time.

The Coolpad Quattro 4G looks to be another addition to MetroPCS's lineup of affordable LTE handsets. It's kind of a disappointing that the Quattro 4G isn't following in the footsteps of the recently-released LG Motion 4G by coming to market with Android 4.0, but the Quattro does have a larger display than its ICS-toting counterpart, so there's that. The full Coolpad Quattro 4G announcement is available below.
