After the first full week of the Apple iPhone 5 being on the Official Smartphone Rankings, the device took second with the people and first with the experts.  Also during this first full week our experts spent as much time with the iPhone 5 as possible, so today we spotlight three of our experts and the reason behind their top five smartphone selections.

The iPhone 5 is the best overall phone out there. Maps fiasco aside, I've greatly enjoyed the iPhone 5 thus far enough to unseat the Galaxy S III from its reign at the top of my rankings. The Galaxy S III is still a great phone for you Androiders out there, and yes, good enough to take the #2 and 3 spots.

The HTC One X is easily the second best Android device out there, and is a strong alternative for those of you who think the Galaxy S III is just too big, or you prefer the Sense UI to Samsung's Touchwiz.

Finally, the iPhone 4S now at $99 makes this device the best budget-friendly phone on the market.

A few changes here this week, after my iPhone 5 Review. Though the top 3 still remains the same. With the galaxy SIII still number One, HTC One X is 2nd and the One S is third. Fourth place is the iPhone 5 and that is because of lack of NFC and minuscule improvements with iOS 6. The Motorola Droid Razr M comes in 5th at its affordable price point.

After extensively using all of the best smartphones of today, the HTC One X remains at the top of my list, solely for its spectacular hardware and gorgeous display. I moved the Samsung Galaxy S III back into second, over the iPhone 5, due to its larger display and the overall experience Samsung offers with its devices. Despite having one of the best smartphone cameras to date, the iPhone 5 dropped from second to third in my list due to the 4-inch display still being a bit tiny and the quickly aging software. In fourth is the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (global), which proves that hardware and topnotch specifications aren't everything. Running Android 4.1, it offers the purest mobile Google experience and second to none performance. Last is the Motorola DROID RAZR M. It may not be the prettiest device to ever grace my hands, but the display size versus device footprint is fantastic. Not to mention, Motorola devices now come with a very near stock experience.
