Ending the four-month streak for the Samsung Galaxy S III as the #1 People's Choice device, the Samsung Galaxy Note II took first place for week 35 in PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™. Apple's iPhone 5, however, reclaimed the #1 spot in the Mobile Tech Expert's Chart. Which smartphone has what it takes to be the overall top smartphone for the month of November?

MT PLEASANT, SC – For 35 weeks and counting, PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) have set the standard for ranking the market's hottest smartphones by collecting reader and expert votes. This week, there was a lot of action and upsets in both charts. The Samsung Galaxy Note II proved it has what it takes to dethrone the long-reigning champion Samsung Galaxy S III in the People's Choice Chart, narrowly winning by just 51 votes. With 43 expert points, the Apple iPhone 5 edged out last week's #1 pick in the Mobile Tech Expert's Chart, the Samsung Galaxy Note II, by just one point.

Coming in behind the #2 Samsung Galaxy S III in the People's Choice Chart was the Apple iPhone 5, which lost by a wide margin of 257 votes. With 42 points, the Samsung Galaxy Note II secured second place in the Mobile Tech Expert's Chart. And the Samsung Galaxy S III climbed back into the top three at third with 25 points, barely sliding past the HTC One X with 24 points.

“As the holiday season kicks off, the Samsung Galaxy Note II and Apple iPhone 5 are in a heated battle for first place on PhoneDog’s Official Smartphone Rankings," said Aaron Baker, Editor-in-Chief of PhoneDog.
