Sprint's 4G LTE network is currently live in 32 cities, but the carrier has named many more that'll be lit up in the coming months, and today it added another 9 areas to that list. Sprint has announced that it's working to expand its LTE coverage to 9 new markets in different parts of the U.S. The list of newly-named areas is:

  • Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minn.
  • Oakland/Fremont/Hayward, Calif.
  • Key West, Fla.
  • Fort Smith, Ark.
  • Michigan City/La Porte, Ind.
  • Bloomington, Ind.
  • Eau Claire, Wis.
  • Ardmore, Okla.
  • McAllen/Edinburg/Mission, Texas

Sprint notes that customers in these areas are free to use the LTE network in these areas if they see anything light up during the pre-launch period. When it comes to an actual launch, the only information that Sprint has given for these 9 cities is they'll officially go live "in the coming months," which is the same timeframe that Sprint has given for the other 125+ markets that it plans to cover with LTE service. Once we get a more concrete idea of when Sprint plans to flip its LTE switch next, we'll give you a shout. Are any of you located in one of these 9 areas?
