MT PLEASANT, SC – PhoneDog Media is proud to announce the monthly winners for November 2012 in our Official Smartphone Rankings™, a place where readers and experts alike help rank the market's best smartphones by voting for their favorite devices.

From week 35 to week 39, the Samsung Galaxy Note II mustered enough votes to oust both the Samsung Galaxy S III and Apple iPhone 5 to be the top overall smartphone for the month. With 220 total expert points, it took first in the Mobile Tech Expert's Chart with ease, besting the Apple iPhone 5 by a margin of 23 points. In the People's Choice Chart, the Samsung Galaxy Note II beat the Samsung Galaxy S III by 820 votes.

For the month of November, the Samsung Galaxy S III took second in the People's Choice Chart. Booting the Apple iPhone 5 from third for November was the Nokia Lumia 920, which even joined the race one week late. In the Mobile Tech Expert's Chart, the Apple iPhone 5 dropped from first to second for November. And, with 137 points, the Samsung Galaxy S III ranked at #3 for the month, kicking the HTC One X from the Mobile Tech Experts’ top three for the month.

“The Samsung Galaxy Note II dominated PhoneDog’s Official Smartphone Rankings for the month of November, though iOS and Windows Phone 8 continue to garner mindshare,” said Aaron Baker, Editor-in-Chief of PhoneDog.
