We're back! This we're in line for the Huawei press event that starts at 1:00 PM local time (4:00 PM EST). There are several rumored devices to be showing their face at this event, but I don't imagine many of them will be ever officially see U.S. soil. Huawei doesn't have a major stake in the U.S. market, but there may be some impressive devices nonetheless.

Last year we saw the Huawei Ascend P1, and it was a fairly formidable and boundary-pushing smartphone. There's a chance we'll see a couple new Android smartphones and maybe on Windows Phone 8 device.

Either way, we'll find out within the next hour or so. So keep it locked on this page and we'll bring it to you as it unfolds!

The D2 is wrapped in metal trim – very iPhone 5-like. I smell a lawsuit.

Okay, we're getting a summary now. Sorry for how sporadic this has been. This has been a whirlwind.

Huawei also has some (very ugly) themes. Why are they moving away from stock Android?

Dual Wi-Fi – up to 150Mbps. This might be useful for the very few of you with Google Fiber. Fast charging. It 25 percent faster than the Galaxy S III, even with over double the capacity.

Huawei is still jumping all over the place with this presentation. I feel like they might have thrown this together last night.

One-handed operation, just like Samsung's Note II features.

Floating Windows a la Popup Browser or Popup Video. Lots of borrowing going here.

Whoa. A 4,050mAh battery in the Mate. What was that, Motorola?

The screen-to-frame ration on the Mate is higher than the D2. Zhengfei just called it "small and compact". Ha!

He also just dropped the phone. An older lady in the back gasped and covered her mouth.

Dust and water resistant, just like we were promised by many manufacturers at last year's CES. We're being given a demonstration. Zhengfei just poured a pitcher of water on the D2. Still working.

They are claiming "double the battery of iPhone 5" and 48 hours of power. Steep claims.

"Super Hands-Free" with clear speakerphone up to 1.5 meters.

It has a 13-megapiel camera with a f/2.2 lens.

Highest screen-to-frame ration. Very little bezel.

Ascend D2 has a 5-inch 1080p display. That's 443ppi.  Large phones, people, they're here to stay … for a while.

Okay, no hard specs on the Ascend Mate just yet. More on that later. On to the Ascend D2. This presentation is back and forth and very poorly organized. Hang with me.

We're taking a look at the manufacturing process. Really weird low-fi music playing.

The Ascend Mate seriously look giant. It has a 6.1-inch display. Like I said, huge.

Two new Huawei devices: the Ascend Mate with the largest smartphone display and the Ascend D2.

Zhengfei is holding the device on stage. It's a very large device. From here, it looks larger than the Note II.

All-in-one device: large HD display, long battery life, "easy to carry" and a superior camera.

And that was the Huawei Ascend D2.
