Last night, Sony announced its two latest handsets at CES in Las Vegas, the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL. The differences between the two are minimal. They both have a 5-inch 1080p display, 2GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage, a 13-megapixel camera, 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera and Android 4.1 pre-installed.

The Xperia Z, specifically, is IP55 and IP57 rated for dust and water resistance, respectively. It is also a bit larger with more bezel. It has a slick glass back with svelte aluminum trim.

No specific availability was announced, but the Xperia Z and ZL are expected to hit the market this quarter (or before the end of March). We're not sure if they will make it stateside, but there is a good chance one of them will launch on AT&T at some point.

George Curran Hey, just thought I'd let you know about this nice offer i came across: http://tiny.cc/amueawpd1
Ellery Arellano I definitely would, especially if they make a Nexus phone
Michael Kergosien Jr Still happy with my Galaxy S3 lol
Kyle Cordiano There is no reason it shouldn't be available in the US.
David Slawter Absolutely.
Jacob McClure No I would not. Sony has a bad history with me, I've had 2 of their phones, the Play and the Bond Edition. Both have given me hell.
Jeff Griffith I will never buy another Sony phone after the $500 S710 pile of shit AT&T sold me back in 2005, that thing looked slick as hell but only accepted no more than a 30mb memory card that had to be a Sony branded card. I usually love Sony products but that piece of shit phone forever left a sour taste in my mouth.
Tyrell V Mason once again sony waits too damn long to release their phones after showing their hands
Reese Woodson I would, but it's going to be a hard sell against the HTC One and Galaxy S4 without a carrier picking it up........
Ian Baylon Yes apple can suck it.
