LG Optimus G Pro NTT DoCoMo black

Good news for impatient Android fans that liked what they saw in the LG Optimus G Pro leak that surfaced last week, as the new smartphone has been made officially official for Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo. Revealed as part of the operator's spring 2013 lineup, the Optimus G Pro features a 5-inch 1920x1080 IPS LCD display with Zero Gap Touch tech. The rest of the leaked specs turned out to be fairly accurate as well, with a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 processor, 32GB storage, microSD slot, 2GB RAM, 4G LTE and a non-removable 3,000mAh battery. There's also a 13.2-megapixel shooter on the Optimus G Pro's backside and a 2.4-megapixel camer around front.

The Android 4.1-powered Optimus G Pro is slated to launch in Japan in April of 2013 for an undisclosed price. So far LG hasn't announced the device for any other countries, but considering the Optimus G Pro's set of flagship-level specs and the fact that the original Optimus G make its way to several different countries (including the U.S.), it wouldn't be a surprise to see the Optimus G Pro do a bit of globetrotting of its own. LG may be a bit more talkative about the Optimus G Pro's global availability at Mobile World Congress next month, so if this new handset has piqued your fancy, you may want to keep it locked to PhoneDog. Would any of you be interested in picking up the Optimus G Pro if it hit your carrier of choice?
