LG Lucid 2 Verizon Wireless official

Just a hair over a year after Verizon added the LG Lucid to its smartphone lineup, the big red carrier has officially introduced the LG Lucid 2. Launching online on April 4 and hitting Verizon stores in the coming weeks, the Lucid 2 sports a low-end to mid-range spec list that could make it an option for customers in the market for an affordable handset. The Lucid 2 includes:

  • 4.3-inch qHD (960x540) IPS display
  • 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor
  • 5-megapixel rear camera
  • 8GB storage, microSD card slot
  • 1GB RAM
  • 4G LTE connectivity with mobile hotspot support for up to 10 devices
  • Wireless charging capabilities (wireless charging battery cover and charging pad sold separately for $39.99 each)
  • 2,460mAh battery
  • Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, complete with LG-added features like Quick Memo, Simple Mode/Standard Mode and Video Editor

As you might've guessed, the Lucid 2 will be a fairly affordable handset once it hits store shelves. Verizon is planning to offer the device for free with a two-year contract, so Big Red customers will be able to pick up a Lucid 2 and get their Google Now on without having to shell out a penny. The full Lucid 2 announcements from both Verizon and LG are available for your perusal at the links below.
