Sony Xperia SP white

Shortly after adding the unlocked Xperia Z to the digital shelves of its U.S. online store, Sony has put another new Xperia smartphone up for purchase. The Xperia SP is now available for pre-order from the U.S. Sony store in either black or white. Interested customers will need to pony up $489.99 for either model, and orders are expected to begin shipping out on May 20. In exchange for their hard-earned $490, buyers will be getting an unlocked device that includes:

  • 4.6-inch 1280x720 display
  • 1.7GHz dual-core MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 Pro processor
  • 8-megapixel rear, VGA front cameras
  • 8GB storage, microSD card slot
  • 1GB RAM
  • HSPA+ (850, 900, 1900, 2100) and LTE (Band I, Band II, Band IV, Band V) support
  • NFC
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

The Sony Xperia SP features a design that's similar to the Xperia ZL but features a more mid-range spec list that Sony's flagship ZL. The 4.6-inch screen on the Xperia SP is also slightly smaller than the 5-incher that's found on the ZL, though, which could make the Xperia SP a bit more appealing to phone shoppers that like the look of Sony's new Xperia phones but haven't bought into the big screen craze. If that sounds like you, there's a big orange "Pre-Order" button awaiting your click at the Sony Store link below.
