Motorola Moto X XT1056 Sprint leak

It feels like it's been a while since Motorola's Moto X has been in the news spotlight, but that's changing today thanks to a new image that offers a good look at the front of what may be Moto's upcoming Android smartphone. Posted by PhoneArena, the image shows a Motorola-branded Android device that looks fairly similar to the AT&T device that leaked out in a dummy case last month, as well as a Motorola unit that was spotted in the wild back in March.

The device in this new image is said to sport the model number XT1056, which lines up with a Motorola-made Sprint device that recently appeared in the FCC. The source of this image claims that the handset sports Sprint LTE, and the "4G" indicator in its status bar does look similar to the one found on previous Sprint LTE-capable phones. As with Motorola's other recent Android products, the unit shown in this leak looks to be running a fairly vanilla version of Google's mobile operating system.

Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside recently confirmed that his company is working on a "hero" phone known as the Moto X that will be available this summer on a number of carriers. The straight-up specs of the device are still a mystery for now, but previous leaks have suggested that it could sport a 720p display, Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and 16GB of built-in storage. The device may not be super bleeding edge if those spec rumors hold true, but it would be nice to see a new, mostly-vanilla Android phone from Motorola hit multiple U.S. carriers. Here's to hoping that we don't have to wait long into the summer before Motorola gives us an official look at the device.
