That quartet of One Touch Idol devices aren't the only products that Alcatel brought with it to Berlin for IFA 2013. The company has also announced the One Touch Hero this morning, and as its name suggests, this phone is a hero product for Alcatel.

The One Touch Hero features a 6-inch 1080p display, and Alcatel also including a stylus with the device so that owners can take advantage of the Hero's large screen to jot down notes, create some sketches and add annotations to documents. The Hero is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and 2GB RAM, and it's also got a 3,200mAh battery providing juice to the whole package. Rounding out the Hero's spec list is a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 2-megapixel front camera, 8GB (single-SIM) or 16GB (dual-SIM) storage, microSD card slot and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Alcatel has also prepped several accessories for the One Touch Hero that can help to improve the user experience. They include:

  • Inductive wireless charger
  • TV Link that can wirelessly mirror the Hero's screen
  • E Ink cover that includes a second screen for viewing newspapers, magazines and more
  • MagicFlip cover with embedded LEDs for displaying the time and other notifications
  • A small Bluetooth companion phone that can receive text messages, make calls and view calendar information
  • Pico projector that's capable of pushing out the Hero's display at a size of over 70 inches

It's clear that the One Touch Hero is a major device for Alcatel, and unique accessories like its E Ink cover help to make the Hero an even more intriguing piece of kit. We'll have to wait until we can get our hands on one before making any final judgments, but the included stylus and large, high-res display could make the One Touch Hero a good option for fans of the phone/tablet hybrid device category.

The One Touch Hero is expected to begin rolling out in October 2013. Until then, you can hit up the gallery below for some more images of the Hero and its myriad of accessories.
