T-Mobile BlackBerry Q10, BlackBerry Z10

Own a BlackBerry 10-powered smartphone on T-Mobile? If so, you'll want to keep an eye out for a new software update that's headed your way. T-Mobile has revealed in its official support forums that starting today, Sept. 5, it's rolling out an update to the BlackBerry Q10 and Z10 that brings with it Wi-Fi Calling as well as improved performance and a couple of bug fixes. The official changelog is as follows:

BlackBerry OS (SW Release - Current version

  • Adds Wi-Fi Calling functionality
  • Wi-Fi Calling allows you to send and receive calls and messages over a Wi-Fi connection.

  • Improves device restarting during normal use
  • Resolves 4G displaying when switching access points
That may not be the biggest list of changes that we've ever seen, but Wi-Fi Calling is a big addition that I'm sure many T-Mobile folks will be excited to get. The update is available over the air and can be requested by heading into Settings > Software Updates > Update. Users can also install the update through BlackBerry Link on their computer. Once the dust settles and you've got OS on your Q10 or Z10, be sure to swing by the comments below to tell us how the update is working for you!
