Well what do we have here? It seems that an unannounced "Sony Xperia Z1s" recently showed its face on Sony's global website before vanishing as quickly and quietly as it appeared. The folks at XperiaBlog managed to grab a screenshot of the occurrence, showing that the phone looks similar to the Xperia Z1 and even has the same "The best of Sony for the best of you" tagline attached to it. Unfortunately, clicking the link apparently led to a dead end, so it's not known exactly what the Xperia Z1s is or what makes it tick.
So just what could the Xperia Z1s be? Well, both the name "Xperia Z1s" and the fact that it has the same tagline as the Xperia Z1 on this product page suggests that it's some kind of variant of Sony's most recent Android flagship. It's also worth noting that Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo introduced a shrunken version of the Xperia Z1 known as the "Xperia Z1 f" earlier this year. Taking all of that information into consideration, it's possible that the Z1s is a global variant of the Z1 f. Here's to hoping that this brief appearance on Sony's website means that it won't be long before the true identity of the Xperia Z1s is officially revealed.
