Less than a month after BlackBerry finally pushed its BBM apps for Android and iPhone out to the public, the company has revealed that it'll soon add two more devices to the BBM family. BlackBerry just announced that its BBM app will be made available to both the iPod touch and iPad later today, Nov. 14. No other details on the apps or their launch were given.
BlackBerry announced last month that its BBM for Android and iPhone apps added 20 million active users to its messaging service in a little over a week after their launches, pushing BBM past the 80 million total user milestone. The addition of BBM apps for iPod touch and iPad ought to help give that number another nice boost, and I'm sure that there will be quite a few iOS users that are rocking a non-iPhone device that will be happy to get in on the BBM action as well. Stay tuned and I'll update you when the BBM for iPod touch and iPad hit the App Store's virtual shelves.
UPDATE: BlackBerry has announced that BBM updates for both Android and iPhone are now rolling out. Android users are receiving goodies like improvements to BBM Group List sorting and filtering as well as more ways to share a BBM PIN, including on Twitter and other social networks. Meanwhile, the BBM for iPhone update brings with it support for the iPad and iPod touch, the aforementioned PIN sharing capabilities and right-to-left language improvements.
