Black Friday is nearly upon us, and today HTC announced some upcoming deals on its flagship One smartphone to help smartphone shoppers prepare their plan of attack for the big day. On both Nov. 29 and Nov. 30, both the Sprint and Verizon versions of the HTC One will be available for $29.99 with a two-year contract through HTC's own web store. The promo is open to both new and existing customers.
But what if you'll be busy with Thanksgiving festivities on those two days or just plain can't wait to buy a One? HTC will also be offering the One at a discounted rate before and after Black Friday. Between Nov. 24-Nov. 28 and Dec. 1-Dec. 7, the Sprint and Verizon Ones will be available through HTC's website for $49.99 with a two-year commitment. Once again, that price will be available to both new customers and upgrades.
Don't fret if you're not planning on picking up a new smartphone this holiday season, because HTC's got something for you folks too. Starting today, Nov. 25, HTC will be using a large billboard in Times Square to show off photos shared through its website or on Twitter using the hashtags #HTCinNYC and #US. Everyone that submits a photo could be eligible to win one of five HTC One units that will be given away, with one unit being awarded each week through Dec. 29. Those photographers will also have the chance to win one of two 24-carat gold-plated HTC One units, which are valued at over $2,500 each.
Even though it's been available for the better part of 2013, the HTC One is still one of the better Android handsets available and is currently sitting in the top five of both the People's Choice and Experts' Choice lists of PhoneDog's Official Smartphone Rankings. It's currently being sold by Sprint for $100 and at Verizon for $150, so HTC's upcoming sale offers some pretty significant discounts on the device.
As for that golden One? The newly-announced gold-colored One may look nice, but it'd be pretty awesome to win one of the gold-plated models, both because of the gold shell and because they're so limited. For more details on HTC's upcoming sale and its One giveaway, you can hit up the links below.
