Nvidia Tegra Note 7

Did the NVIDIA Tegra Note 7's combination of a quad-core Tegra 4 processor and stylus lure $200 out of your wallet when it went up for sale last month? If so, you'll be glad to hear that NVIDIA is showing its support for the new 7-inch slate this holiday season by pushing out a beefy software update.

Announced today on NVIDIA's official blog, the new update bumps the Tegra Note 7 up to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and includes a number of other improvements. That includes support for left-handed users and better overall response when it comes to using the device's stylus, an alert when the stylus is removed or inserted and the ability to capture the notification bar with full-screen capture.

The Tegra Note 7's camera is also getting some attention in this latest update. NVIDIA says that it's included an always-on high-dynamic range feature that ought to produce better-looking images across a range of lighting conditions. Rounding out the list of improvements packed into this bundle of update-y goodness is video stabilization, the ability to transfer app and data files from the Tegra Note 7's internal storage to an external SD card and some unspecified security and bug fixes.

Overall this looks to be a pretty feature-packed update, and it's good to see the Tegra Note 7 getting love from NVIDIA just a little over a month after its debut. Sure, it's kind of a bummer that the stylus-packin' slate is getting bumped to Android 4.3 and not Android 4.4, but hopefully the promptness of this particular update means that we'll see some KitKat from NVIDIA sooner rather than later.

Have any of you purchased an NVIDIA Tegra Note 7? If so, how has it been treating you?
