Earlier this month, Verizon began pushing Android 4.4.2 to its version of the Moto G, bringing the prepaid handset up to the freshest version of Google's mobile operating system. Now it's the Verizon Moto X's time in the update spotlight.

David Schuster, Senior Director of Software Product Management at Motorola, recently confirmed that the Android 4.4.2 update is now rolling out to the Verizon-flavored Moto X. Motorola's software update page also shows that the update is now rolling out. The update brings the Verizon Moto X up to software version 164.55.2 and includes the following enhancements:

KEY DEVICE ENHANCEMENTS:

  • Security & Stability
  • Improved phone dialer application performance
  • Improved synchronization of email attachments
  • Enhanced on-device security
  • Roaming Improved connectivity when roaming
  • Improvements
  • Battery life improved
  • Isis Mobile Wallet enhancements
  • Latest Version of Apps Now Available
  • VZ Tones
  • VZ Navigator

Verizon may not have been as quick to push Android 4.4.2 to its Moto X as it was with Android 4.4, but hey, all that matters now is that Verizon subscribers are finally getting the chance to sink their teeth into the freshest version of KitKat that Google has to offer. And with improvements to the phone dialer, battery life and more, this is an update that you Verizon Moto X folk will want to grab as soon as possible. If you haven't yet gotten an update alert on your Verizon X, you can check for it manually by going into Settings > About phone > System updates.
