AT&T GoPhone prepaid smartphone plans to gain more data on April 25Alex Wagner - Editorial Director of News and Content
Last year, we saw AT&T axe several of its GoPhone plans and replace them with fresh offerings. Now AT&T is at it again, as the big blue carrier has announced that it’s making some tweaks to its prepaid plans.
AT&T says that on April 25, it’ll be boosting the data allotments of some of its GoPhone plans. Here’s how the changes will break down:
- $60 per month plan will increase from 2GB to 2.5GB, gain mobile hotspot support
- $40 per month plan will grow from 250MB to 500MB
- New $45 plan will include unlimited talk and text, 1GB of data for $45 per month. Will be available exclusively at Walmart stores.
These sound like some pretty sweet changes for GoPhone users, especially those folks on the $60 per month plan that are gaining official mobile hotspot support. Best of all is that AT&T says that existing customers will automatically be bumped up to the larger data allotments once April 25 rolls around. Hooray for more megabytes!
