Every carrier claims that their network is the fastest and overall best around, especially now that all four major U.S. operators are expanding their 4G LTE connectivity. But which one is really the fastest around? It’s time that we find out.

PhoneDog is teaming up with PCMag and several tech publications to test the networks of AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon and find out which is truly the speediest. The Fastest Mobile Networks experiment will see three test cars drive across the country with several smartphones loaded up with the Sensorly network test app. The cars will stop in several major cities across the country, including Portland, Chicago and New York City, and test each network around the way.

To help make the testing even better, this year’s Fastest Mobile Networks program will take into account the results of smartphone owners across the U.S. To contribute your own data, you can download the official Sensorly app to your Android or iOS device and test your carrier’s network for yourself.
