Toshiba Excite Go

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything from Toshiba, but today the ‘Tosh ended that silence with a trio of new tablets.

Toshiba today took the wraps off of three new tablet devices: the Excite Go running Android and two Encore 2 models that are powered by Windows 8.1. Here are the spec breakdowns for all three units:

Toshiba Excite Go

  • 7-inch 1024x600 display
  • Quad-core Intel Atom processor
  • 16GB of internal storage
  • microSD slot with support for cards up to 128GB in size
  • Battery life of 7.5 hours of general use
  • Android 4.4 KitKat
  • Full version of OfficeSuite Pro
  • Launching in early July for $109.99

Toshiba Encore 2

  • 8 and 10.1-inch 1280x800 displays
  • 5-megapixel rear camera, HD webcam
  • Quad-core Intel Atom processors
  • Up to 64GB of internal storage
  • microHDMI port
  • microSD slot with support for cards up to 128GB in size
  • 1-year subscription to Office 365 Personal
  • Battery life of 10 hours of general use
  • Windows 8.1
  • Both launch in early July
  • 8-inch model priced at $199.99, 10.1 incher at $269.99

Obviously Toshiba is aiming at the affordable tablet market with its new trio of devices. While their specs aren’t going to blow your hair back, especially those rather low-res displays, these Excite and Encore 2 slates could be worth checking out for anyone that’s on the hunt for a new tablet that’ll be easy on the wallet.
